THURSDAY 8 MAY
Arrive Rome (Italy)
Commence your journey in Rome this afternoon. Our home for the next three nights is the Anantara Palazzo Naiadi hotel, a historic palazzo in one of Rome’s most enviable locations.
Join fellow travellers for a welcome cocktail gathering on the hotel’s rooftop.
FRIDAY 9 MAY
Rome
Today we discover Rome by electric golf cart – including the Roman Forum, Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. After lunch at a traditional trattoria, we take an in-depth exploration of the Colosseum.
Set in a special location, you can be sure dinner this evening will live long in your memory.
SATURDAY 10 MAY
Rome
+ A morning visit takes you to the Vatican and St Peters Basilica – it’s every bit as impressive as you’d expect. After lunch at our hotel you can choose to take a foodie walking tour, visit the Catacombs at San Clemente Church or simply enjoy a leisurely afternoon.
+ Alternatively, If you’ve been to Rome before, you might want to consider a day trip to the lakeside Castel Gandolfo, former summer home of the popes. Lunch at a charming winery is sure to delight.
A La Carte dinner gives you the choice to dine anywhere you wish in Rome.
SUNDAY 11 MAY
Join Emerald Sakara
Choose from two options this morning.
+ Join a local Italian cooking class.
+ Join a local expert for a walk through Villa Borghese Gardens.
After lunch we join the exquisite Emerald Sakara – a luxury yacht unlike any other. Settle into the sanctuary of your suite or stateroom. This evening join fellow travellers and the Constellation Journeys team for the first of many fabulous meals.
MONDAY 12 MAY
Gaeta
Hidden from the foaming wake of most Mediterranean cruises, Gaeta is a delight.
+ Discover the town, its medieval area and castle on a guided tour
+ Join an excursion to Villa Tiberio and the seafront archaeological houses of nearby Sperlonga.
TUESDAY 13 MAY
Salerno/Amalfi Coast
The southern Italian city of Salerno is known for its medieval relics, including an 11th century cathedral and impressive castle. It’s also a great launching pad for the Amalfi Coast. What will you choose today?
+ Tick that bucket list item and join a luxury coach for an incredible drive along the spectacular Amalfi Coast. Visit the enchanting mountaintop city of Ravello, with its terraced gardens and extraordinary vistas.
+ Take a guided tour of Pompeii. Walk past the ancient baths, temples, theatres and markets as well as the huge forum.
Back on board our welcoming superyacht you might wish to join your Constellation Journeys team for a pre-dinner drink in Amici Bar & Lounge.
WEDNESDAY 14 MAY
Giardini Naxos/Taormina
Overlooking the Ionian Sea on the east coast of Sicily, Giardini Naxos is close to the much lauded town of Taormina.
+ Today you can explore Taormina with a local expert. Cascading from hilltop to sea, you’ll fall under the enchanting spell of this charming town.
+ Drive through Naxos to picturesque Santa Teresa, the largest coastal town between Messina and Taormina. Visit some of the iconic locations featured in ‘The Godfather’ and stop at ‘Bar Vitelli’ for a taste of their graniai di limone.
No matter what you choose to do today, you’ll be ready for another delicious dinner aboard Emerald Sakara.
THURSDAY 15 MAY
Gozo Island (Malta)
Mention Malta and most people evoke the historic wonders of Valletta, but to overlook Gozo is to miss Malta’s beating heart.
Worlds away from the hustle and bustle of Valletta, Gozo moves at a slower pace. Dotted throughout the countryside are tiny villages, where Baroque churches rise like a beacon to sign the heart of the village.
+ Drive around the island and soak up the rhythms of its laid back pace and natural beauty.
+ Visit Victoria, Gozo Island's Capital, and pay a visit to its impressive Citadel.
Later today we sail into Valletta Harbour, one of the most picturesque maritime arrivals in the Mediterranean, if not the world.
FRIDAY 16 MAY
Valletta
The entire city of Valletta is a World Heritage Site and one of the most concentrated and remarkable historic areas in the world.
+ Explore Valletta, testament to Baroque architecture, featuring 320 historic monuments including ornate
churches, impeccably preserved buildings and magnificent fortifications. Walk the honey-coloured cobblestone streets with a local guide and soak up the history and remarkable architecture.
+ Head further afield and visit the fishing village of Marsaxlokk. Drive by the Blue Grotto and visit a local winery.
We take advantage of our overnight stay in port with a special Gala Dinner ashore in Valletta tonight.
SATURDAY 17 MAY
Valletta
Take advantage of our dock location with a final stroll around Valletta this morning before we sail for Sicily at
lunchtime today.
Soak up the views of Valletta Harbour as we depart and perhaps enjoy a spa treatment this afternoon (extra
cost applies).
SUNDAY 18 MAY
Palermo (Italy)
Gliding through the forest green waters of southern Italy’s Mediterranean presents another opportunity to discover Sicily, through its cultural, artistic and economic capital, Palermo.
Palermo is not like other Italian cities. With a different dialect, Arabian influence, medieval churches and unique street food, Palermo is proudly, and distinctly, Sicilian – bold, brash and full of life.
+ Enjoy a guided walking tour of historic Palermo.
+ Take the short drive to Monreale and visit the Royal Palace, the Abbey and Cathedral.
MONDAY 19 MAY
Arbatax, Sardinia
One of the advantages about chartering a superyacht for our own use is that we decide the itinerary, taking in the best bits of must-see destinations while adding hidden treasures that larger ships cannot access. Arbatax is one of them.
This coastal hamlet is idyllically located amongst the stunning coastal scenery of Sardinia, where Rocce Rosse (red rocks) plunge dramatically into the blue sea. Head ashore and explore the seaside village and surrounding landscapes. Join a local vessel to sail around the Gulf of Orosei, one of Sardinia's most beautiful maritime areas.
TUESDAY 20 MAY
Bonifacio (France)
Perched on white limestone cliffs at the southern tip of Corsica is the French commune of Bonifacio. Stunning in its natural beauty, the old town is protected by a commanding citadel and the town’s narrow streets are filled with restaurants and boutique shops.
+ A wheeled train takes you up the hill for a visit to the fascinating old town of Bonifacio
+ Take a coastal boat trip past the towering cliffs of Bonifacio
WEDNESDAY 21 MAY
St Tropez
Along the French Riviera is St Tropez, where the rich and famous come to play. Travellers flock here for the soft white sand and bright blue waters. The modern art and maritime history museums provide a contrast to the decadent boutiques and exclusive beach clubs.
+ Join a local expert and take a walking tour of St Tropez today.
+ Take a scenic drive along the spectacular coastline for breathtaking views on route to Le Lavandou. Have some time at leisure before returning via the vineyards of the Dom Forest.
Join fellow travellers and the Constellation Journeys team for our festive farewell dinner aboard as we say goodbye to the Emerald Sakara and one another.
THURSDAY 22 MAY
Depart Nice
We sail into our final destination this morning, the popular resort town of Nice. We have time to stroll the narrow streets and beachside promenade before commencing the journey home or continuing with further travels in Europe.
