A Singapore Airlines flight spirits you from Australia to Hong Kong, via Singapore (Air Inclusive Package) arriving late today. Check into the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel.
SUNDAY 26 JANUARY
Hong Kong
Today we’ll explore the highlights of this fascinating city. We'll visit Repulse Bay, Stanley Markets and take the tram to the top of The Peak for views of the city.
This evening we come together for a very special dinner – celebrating the start of your journey and, of course, Australia Day!
MONDAY 27 JANUARY
Join Silver Dawn – Depart 9.00pm
We know that people want different things from their holiday; that’s why we offer you a range of options to discover Hong Kong this morning.
Spend the morning at Lantau Island and Po Lin Monastery OR Take a 'Taste of Hong Kong' walking food tour through Kowloon
After lunch we join Silver Dawn.
TUESDAY 28 JANUARY
Cruising
On a ship like Silver Dawn, having a day at sea at the beginning of your cruise is a real treat, enabling you time to get to know the ship and all it has to offer.
This evening come together with your Constellation Journeys team and fellow travellers for a pre-dinner drink before another premier dining experience.
WEDNESDAY 29 JANUARY
Hanoi (Hạ Long Bay) – Arrive 8.00am
Imposing limestone formations rise out of the water, heralding our arrival into Hạ Long Bay. We reserve exploring this majestic marine wonderland until tomorrow; today we are bound for Hanoi.
From Chinese rule to the Nguyen Dynasty, to the capital of French Indochina – the city artfully blends its many influences to make them uniquely Hanoi. Today we visit the city’s major sights including Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, the ancient Temple of Literature – a peaceful retreat dating from the 11th century – the Fine Arts Museum and the notorious ‘Hanoi Hilton’ (Hoa Lo Prison). There will also be time to delve into the arts and trades of the narrow market streets independently.
We return to Silver Dawn for dinner this evening.
THURSDAY 30 JANUARY
Ha Long Bay – Depart 1.00pm
Awake this morning to the ethereal and eerie beauty of Hạ Long Bay. The limestone karst formations and emerald green waters qualify Hạ Long Bay as a contender for one of the most spectacular and beautiful landscapes in the world.
Spend the morning aboard a traditional junk (boat), soaking up the breathtaking seascapes while sipping on green tea.
This evening you might like to take in a performance after dinner in the Venetian Lounge. With its Belle Époque-style cabaret seating, you’ll feel like you’re in Paris in the early 1900s.
FRIDAY 31 JANUARY
Hue (Chan May) – Arrive 8.00am Depart Midnight
From Chan May we drive to the imperial city of Hue, a resplendent example of the royal glory that ruled Vietnam before French colonisation. Walk through the Royal Citadel, Vietnam’s equivalent to the Forbidden City, before a relaxing dragon riverboat cruise and a visit to the magnificent tomb of Emperor Minh Mạng.
After a full day of adventure, the comfort of your bed and luxurious sheets lull you into a restful slumber.
SATURDAY 1 FEBRUARY
Hoi An (Da Nang) – Arrive 8.00am Depart 11.50pm
We head to Hoi An and join a local chef who will share his tips on identifying the best produce on a foray into the fresh food market. You are then invited back to his cooking school, where you’ll learn the secrets of making traditional Vietnamese food like spring rolls and rice pancakes.
Dine on your culinary creations for lunch followed by a fascinating walking tour through the town, with its unique mix of Vietnamese, Chinese and Japanese architecture. It’s hard not to fall under the spell of Hoi An.
SUNDAY 2 FEBRUARY
Cruising
After some busy days, time at sea brings an opportunity to reflect on all that you’ve experienced.
There’s plenty to keep you entertained aboard Silver Dawn but if you’re looking for company, the Constellation team love to share travel stories over a coffee or meal.
MONDAY 3 FEBRUARY
Ho Chi Minh City – Arrive 12.00pm
Today we explore the many highlights of Ho Chi Minh including the history museum and the unexpected Notre-Dame Cathedral. A walk through the bustling central market greets you with a kaleidoscope of colour, while a visit to Thien Hau Temple offers a tranquil respite from the hustle of the city. After the sightseeing tour you can choose to return to the ship with the coach or you may prefer to discover the city under your own steam – perhaps some shopping is required?
We come together for another fabulous meal aboard our ship this evening.
TUESDAY 4 FEBRUARY
Ho Chi Minh City
Today we head into the picturesque countryside and see first-hand the guerilla war tactics that made the Viet Cong a force to be reckoned with. An intricate web of tunnels enabled soldiers and citizens to live underground, protected from the force of bombs and tanks. The Cu Chi tunnels and their relics are extraordinary. Step inside the tunnels, hear stories from your guide and begin to understand the war from a different perspective.
WEDNESDAY 5 FEBRUARY
Ho Chi Minh City – Depart 1.00pm
Vietnamese cuisine is influenced by the French and Chinese – it’s equally intricate, flavoursome and accessible to all palates. Today we join a local expert and discover the highly regarded “street food” of Ho Chi Minh. First stop is the Saigon Food Street Market, then Tan Dinh Market, and finally lunch at Ngon Restaurant, where a range of vendors offer their specialities.
From banh mi sandwiches and phở soup to a complex military history, your time in Ho Chi Minh City is as comprehensive as it is diverse.
THURSDAY 6 FEBRUARY
Cruising
Our final day aboard Silver Dawn is spent cruising towards Singapore. It’s the perfect conclusion to your action-packed time in Vietnam.
This evening dining al fresco might offer the most appeal? Indoors or outside, the choice is yours.
FRIDAY 7 FEBRUARY
Singapore – Arrive 8.00am
Is there another city like Singapore? We arrive in this melting pot of cultures, with a passion for style, this morning.
We begin our exploration aboard a ‘Bumboat’, a barge like vessel perfect for negotiating the narrow river. We’ll see the famous Merlion, the Civic District, Parliament House and City Hall. After lunch at a local restaurant, we’ll check in to the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel.
Dinner will be at our hotel this evening.
SATURDAY 8 FEBRUARY
This morning we'll experience the diversity of Singapore's cultural history. We'll visit the old-fashioned shops of Kampong Glam, the Muslim Quarter, the bustling streets of Little India and cultural kaleidoscope of Chinatown.
This afternoon the choice is yours.
Visit the renowned Gardens by The Bay, with its climate controlled indoor glasshouses or take a cooking class to learn some Singaporean favourites like Chilli Crab and Laksa.
Enjoy a special farewell dinner this evening.
SUNDAY 9 FEBRUARY
Depart Singapore with Singapore Airlines this morning (Air Inclusive Package) and arrive home later today.
