SILVER WIND
SILVER WIND
Timelessly elegant and luxuriously relaxed, Silver Wind seamlessly combines everything you could dream of in a luxury cruise and everything you need for an expedition voyage.
Fully refurbished and ice strengthened in 2021, equipped with Zodiacs and led by an expert team, this opportunity to explore the Arctic region in comfort is beyond compare.
LIFE ONBOARD
Silversea Cruises pioneered the art of luxury small ship cruising. Since their inception in 1994 personalised service has been the jewel in their crown.
With a staff to guest ratio of nearly 1:1 your every need is anticipated, leaving you to immerse fully in the experience. Round the clock butler service for every suite begins when you step aboard and are handed a flute of Champagne while being escorted to your suite.
Hailing from Italian lineage there is a focus on culinary excellence and impressive wines, all of which are included throughout your journey.
With Silversea no detail is overlooked and everything is included.
SUITES
Aboard Silver Wind there are no “cabins”, every room is a suite – most with private verandas. Large doors or windows frame a new panorama each day, so alluring you may even wish to take breakfast in bed and enjoy a private piece of serenity.
With a separate sitting area and bedroom there’s plenty of room to relax, even the “smallest” suite provides 22m2 of space (larger than the premium suites on many other ships). Every suite is looked after by a personal butler, who is there to do as much or as little as you require – restock your complimentary mini-bar with drinks of your preference, prepare a warm cup of tea on your return from shore or make your spa reservations.
Your suite becomes your haven, to rest and reflect.
DINING
Dining is a highlight. A choice of four restaurants – plus 24 hour in-suite dining – is offered. There is no set arrival time or assigned seating. Your dining experience is akin to that of the best restaurants in a large city, with top chefs curating each course.
La Terrazza offers authentic Italian cuisine and the freshest, most sustainable produce at sea. The Restaurant is Silver Wind’s signature dining venue, sparkling silverware, crystal and candlelight, this is fine dining at its best. A more casual place to dine is The Grill, featuring lava stone cooking and rotisserie selections. La Dame is the place for utter indulgence, a six-course degustation menu is complemented by fine wines (US$60pp surcharge)
Dining is included at all venues (except La Dame). Drinks are included at all meals. In fact, drinks are included at any time.
And sustainable caviar is available at any time, even served to your room should you wish.
ONBOARD ACTIVITIES
Elegantly casual you will find many activities in which to participate. Frequent enrichment lectures enable you to delve more deeply into the region.
An on-board spa offers the opportunity for indulgence and rejuvenation. And the library provides literary and educational diversions.
The Panorama Lounge is an informal spot for a game of chess or cards, while The Bar is where we get together prior to dinner each evening. For the budding photographer there is a dedicated photography studio, where master classes and state-of-the-art equipment are offered
EXPEDITION TEAM
Aboard Silver Wind is a top-notch team of naturalists and other experts to help you uncover the beauty and secrets of The Arctic. Silversea’s commitment to personalised cruising carries over to its expedition team, with a large number of experts aboard to ensure no question goes unanswered.
You can expect a variety of experts including biologists, ornithologists, geologists, historians and photographers – all of whom are there to guide onshore expeditions and provide lectures aboard Silver Wind. These experts are in addition to the professional expedition team, well-versed in safety and comfort in the polar regions.
ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES
Whilst in the Arctic you will be offered several types of
expeditions – group hikes, active kayaking and Zodiac cruising.
Aboard a Zodiac you’ll cruise the calm waters of the many bays
in the Arctic, watching the birds circle above whilst bearing
witness to the majesty of the region.
The Expedition Team members will get you close to the action, all you have to do is climb onboard. On hikes you’ll feel the crunch of your feet on the rugged tundra as you get up close and personal with the stark beauty of the Arctic. Encounter remnants of long gone human inhabitation and imagine how life was sustained in such an unforgiving environment.
